What We Do

Inclusive and Community-Driven Approach

At LIDOSOM (Somali Livelihood Initiative and Disability Organization), we work to improve the lives of vulnerable communities across Somalia through inclusive, sustainable, and community-driven programs. Our interventions address both urgent humanitarian needs and long-term development challenges, ensuring that no one is left behind—especially people with disabilities, women, and children.

Disability Inclusion and Human Rights

We promote disability inclusion by advocating for equal opportunities, accessibility, and full participation in society. LIDOSOM ensures that marginalized groups can access essential services and live with dignity and independence.

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

We improve access to safe and clean water, construct sanitation facilities, and promote hygiene practices that prevent disease and enhance community health.

Food Security and Livelihoods

LIDOSOM supports vulnerable families through emergency food assistance, cash transfers, and livelihood opportunities. We also help communities access markets and financial services to build sustainable incomes.

Health and Nutrition

Our programs focus on improving health and nutrition through awareness campaigns, support for children and mothers, and increased access to basic healthcare services.

Shelter and Emergency Response

During crises such as droughts and floods, we provide emergency shelter materials and essential support to displaced families, helping them recover and rebuild their lives.

Protection and Social Inclusion

We promote human rights, support women and children at risk, and strengthen community protection systems to ensure safety and inclusion for all.

Education and Capacity Building

We empower individuals and communities through education, skills training, and capacity-building initiatives that promote long-term development and resilience.

“We act where help is needed most—empowering lives and restoring dignity.”
