Persons with disabilities include ‘those who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others. Over two decades of conflict, together with a lack of healthcare services, have left many people in Jubaland State of Somalia particularly Luuq district with various types of disabilities.

However it is estimated that the number of people with disabilities in Jubbaland State of Somalia is likely to be higher than the humanitarian organizations estimate as a result of the long period of conflict, poverty, and lack of access to health care majorly the rural areas.

After making analysis we realized that diseases are causing more disability than other factors that cause disability, for last one year more than 40 people became paralyzed due to blood pressure, diabetic and cancer, due to lack of proper health care service that deals with these disease the figure is growing day after day.
