Distribution of Eid Clothes to children with disabilities-Luuq

The Somali Livelihood Initiative and Disability Organization (LIDOSOM) proudly collaborates with a wide range of humanitarian organizations, development partners, and government institutions to enhance the effectiveness and impact of its programs.
Through these strategic partnerships, LIDOSOM strengthens its capacity to deliver integrated, inclusive, and sustainable interventions across Somalia. Our collaboration ensures coordinated responses in key sectors such as WASH, Health, Nutrition, Protection, Education, and Food Security & Livelihoods.
We work closely with national and international NGOs, UN agencies, community-based organizations, and relevant government authorities to reach the most vulnerable populations, including persons with disabilities, women, children, and marginalized communities.
LIDOSOM believes that strong partnerships are essential for achieving lasting change, promoting accountability, and building resilient communities. Together with our partners, we are committed to improving lives and creating a more inclusive and equitable society in Somalia.

Somali Livelihood Initiative and Disability Organization (LIDOSOM) assisted children with Albinism living in Arshaam IDP camp in Luuq district of Gedo Somalia on 16th April, 2023, one the remote areas in the district where availability of clean water, shelter, food and health is very scarce. This camp is dwelled by people who displaced from Bakool region around Burdhuxule and proximate villages due to the recurring droughts that devastated both livestock and all farming activities. Each child was given a pair of clothes, shoes and hut that protects the UV rays.

Albinism is an inherited condition that leads to someone having very light skin, hair, and eyes and it happens because they have less melanin than usual in their body.

LIDOSOM is committed to support all children, majorly children with disability in order to participate the happy days of the Eid and bring much needed hope for children with disability whose families are poor and unable to provide the Eid clothes to their children.
